In a dog - versus - car accident, who pays up? Jeffery Ely filed a lawsuit against the owner of the dog that ran in front of his '97 Honda Civic in January, saying miniature pinscher Fester caused $1,100 in damage to his car. The owners have countersued for the death of their dog, seeking $2,400 in damages associated with his death. Who's side are you on? The dog owners'! I can’t believe this jackass driver is trying to add to this poor family's grief by suing for a measly 1100 in damages. They didn't THROW the dog into the road, so why should they be blamed? He is a horrible, horrible man! The driver's! Is it HIS fault little Fester ran in front of his car? Nooo- and in fact, he could have harmed himself or someone else if he had swerved harshly to avoid the dog. Part of being a responsible pet owner is keeping the pet leashed!
